Affiliation + Club Action Planning Scheme (CAPS)
Westoning Netball Club is affiliated to England Netball, the governing body for what is now the biggest women's sport in England. To participate in the Club Action Planning Scheme, our club needed this affiliation.
What is CAPS?
CAPS covers all aspects of running a Club, from coaching to development plus administration, child protection and management. The purpose of CAPS is to promote the best possible conditions upon which netball clubs can thrive. Clubs should, ideally, offer their members the right balance of coaching and social support in accordance with the scheme. To help fulfil this, England Netball have developed a framework of guidelines and awards for meeting certain standards; bronze, silver and gold. As subscribing clubs meet more and more of the CAPS criteria and standards, so the awards are credited by England Netball.
It is not easy to achieve any of the three award levels, least of all maintain an award year-on-year. To find out more, please visit the England Netball CAPS website. http://www.englandnetball.co.uk Our present CAPs status
Our club has a SILVER CAPS award and was only the second Club in Bedfordshire to achieve this. A return is completed each year providing information on the Club’s development plan etc. Full renewal of our CAPS status is required every three years. "So far, so good" we're pleased to report.
