2010 Match Reports

From: Katie Farr, 16th May

On Sunday, we won The Cup. We put alot of effort into our passing, defending and shooting. All our hard work paid off as we never lost a game. The first game we played was against Bedford Opals and we won three and drew one. In that game, I think that Hannah played particularly well as she defended and shooted really well.
The second game that we played was against Grangers Hurricanes. We won two and drew two. I think that Grangers gave us a run for our money because we did footwork and other silly mistakes. The person who stood out the most was Amy and we will really miss her and Georgina next year.
The last game was against Maulden Meerkats. We won 1 and and drew 3 - again silly mistakes cost us the ball. Everyone was getting tired but Amber did some good interceptions.
Well done Apollo!!!

From: Georgia Turner, 18th March

On the 18th of April Westoning Blaze had two games. The first match was against MK Netters.
There was great defending from Ruby and Emily but sadly MK Netters put up a good fight. Unfortunately, we lost 12-6. Everyone put in great effort though.

The next game was against Maulden Rockets. Sadly we lost that game too. The score was 4-2 and we put up a great fight. Amber gave fab encouragement.

Well done girls ;)

From : Amie Redrup, 21st March

When we played on Sunday we didn't score but we did very well. All of us were very good at passing and defending. When we were off, we practised what we had don ewrong. Even the umpire who we had twice said we did much better in the second game than the first. We work very well as a team and we still will. I love it when Charlotte or Helen gives us good advice. When we played Maulden we could get the the ball up our end, but we just could not score. Over all we did very well.

From : Sorcha Doran, 21st March

On our first match Blaze played very well against MK Netters but sadly we lost, the score was 8-11 but we scored many goals which was good. We were very accurate on shooting and our defending was good but MK Netters were the better team. Player of the match went to me because of scoring the most goals. We were also very good only having 5 players as Georgia hurt her ankle.

In the second game we won against Maulden Rockets which we were happy about after losing our first game. The score was 9-3, also our defending was great in that game too. Amber was given player of the match for defending; she stopped many goals from going in as well.

TWO Match Reports from Tayla Saffhill:

Our first match which was against Grangers Tempest was a fantastic game and everybody in Storm played extremely well. However though we lost 11-0, we all passed well amongst ourselves but struggled to get the ball into the 'D' to shoot. A quarter of the way through Amy cut the top of her finger open thankfully though she played on and played very well. By the end of the match though we were all exhausted from all the running around!!!!!!! Well done Storm Team!

Our final match was a bit of a shock to us all as we were playing Westoning Thunder. We all thought this match was a bit more evenly matched as we only lost 5-0. We all played very well in this match and should be happy that we were extremely close to scoring a few goals. Two players that probably played the best in that match were Erin as she had some fantastic shots at the goal and Eleanor as she was great at dodging the people that she was being marked by. Though by the end of the game I think everybody was so tired as we had played two games back-to-back! Lets see if we can win the next one girls!
