2010 Match Reports

From Lucy Turner, 16th May
Today, Sparks had 2 hard games battling for the plate. Firstly, we played Grangers Tornados. Previously, we had lost to them and won to them. The game started with a very confident first quater of 7-0; to Sparks! Then as the game went on to the third quarter we had won all our quarters so far - only letting in 3 goals against us! Anna played very well in centre, and Evie was marking the ball very tight. Consequently, we won all the quartes with a total added-up score of 20 - 3 to the Sparks! Well done girls!

Afterwards, we played Dame Alice Stars, which we previously, drew and won againest, but as we were watching we realised they were a very good team. We started the first quarter with a tight score of 3-2 to Sparks. By the third quarter we upped our game with the third quater score of 4 - 1. But we kept trying harder as we played leading to a score of 4 - 0. The overall score was 15-6. Chloe played VERY well in the shooting, whilst Ellie was very good in mid - court, jumping all around. We had a very successful day and we wish for more in the future!

From: Charlotte Morriss, 25th April

Westoning Zodiac played Leighton Buzzard Eagles in a successful game. Lucy and Kelsie worked well as a team and scored 10-3 to us so well done to them. also sophie wored well at deffending the ball. We all played well as a team. the first quarter of the game was a bit trickey but the other 3 quarters we played very well. We did deserve to win because we put a lot of effort into the game. We didnt do much footwork luckily but over all it was a good match evryone was really happy Well done team Zodiac!

From: Kelsie Cummins, 18th April

Westoning Zodiac played Maulden Lions in a successful game. We worked well as a team although we got pulled up a lot of times for footwork and obstruction. Lucy scored some very good goals and marked very well. Helena, Sophie and Charlotte worked very well in defence helping us win 6-0.

Our second game was against Shefford Seekers in a very tough game. In the heat, I think we struggled with keeping up with the other team. We lost 11-1 with Anna scoring our goal. Shefford Seekers deserved to win and played very well.

Well done Zodiac and good luck for our next game!

From: Helena Batchelor, 21st March:

Westoning Zodiac played against Shefford Seekers and it was a very tough game.We played quite well as a team. Unfortunately we got pulled up for footwork a lot of times but then pulled it together. They were quite a tall team so they used there advantage against us.The final score was 8-4 to Shefford and they probbaly deserved to win.

We also had a second game against Leighton Buzzard who played Shefford and beat them, so we knew it was going to be a tough game.Sophie Wilson played very well and intecepted a lot of balls. Also Kelsie Cummins played well and scored a lot of goals. There wasnt as much footwork in this game but still some people getting pulled up. Its was alternating by gols, so when they got one we got one. The final score was 13-9 to us and we were happy and deserved to win that game.

From Vicky Squires, 7th March:

We had a bit of a disaster when we arrived and 4 squad members were missing leaving us with only 6 players. We had no defence, so we had to borrow players from within the club.

Our first game was against Maulden Lynx, who had beaten us in the tournament 5-0. We were overpowered in the first half, and were losing by 3 goals at half time. Julie then changed the whole team around, after which our game dramatically improved. We drew the second half, and ended up being beaten 10-7. If we improve further we may beat them next time. Come on girls!

Our second game was against Dame Alice Dynamite. We started slowly and the first quarter ended up 0-0. We then began to gel and by half time were winning 2-1. Our confidence was now shining through and we went from strength to strength. Kelsie was s supershot in the third and fourth quarters and we finally came out 5-2 winners. Our first victory, Lets hope its the first of many! Well done all.
